Telehealth Pod Opens in Helensville

The Helensville District Health Trust is proud to be able to facilitate a Community Telehealth Pod right here in our Community. The pod is located immediately in front of the Kaipara Medical Centre, in the small portacabin, by the main entrance. Community telehealth pods enable patients to connect with their doctor or clinical staff without needing to attend a physical appointment. Not everyone has access to a computer, good internet connection or a private space to take a call, and this sound-proof pod aims to bridge that digital divide by letting them attend secure ‘virtual appointments’ via video and phone. It also saves people time and expense by not needing to travel to medical appointments or take time off work, and provides closer-to-home care for those who are particularly unwell or unable to travel. Patients who wish to use this service can simply make a reservation for the Helensville pod when they book an appointment with their doctor, or as an outpatient, they can request this type of booking through the scheduling team with the relevant hospital.
